Announcement of Startup Battlefield companies to be featured at TechCrunch Disrupt 2021 – TechCrunch

Today, TechCrunch is excited to announce the 20 startups that will be taking to the stage at this year’s Startup Battlefield. Selected from the most competitive batch in TC history, selected founders from around the world will perform on the virtual stage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2021. Startups will compete for $ 100,000 in prizes without equity capital and the attention of the international press and major investors around the world.

With an acceptance rate of just over 1.5%, the startups in this year’s cohort are phenomenal. From lithium battery chemical recycling to smart media, blockchain infrastructure to student-centered educational software and fin technology from sub-Saharan Africa to farmed meat production, this group of companies is sure to surprise investors and the public. Featured startups span all verticals with groundbreaking innovations in agricultural technology, female genetics and lifestyle-based therapies, cybersecurity, lasers, fintech, and consumer hardware.

TC aims to select companies from a variety of industries. Clearly this next wave of founders is very focused on building unicorns and also building high-impact technologies. A unique highlight of this batch is more companies in both the medical technology / medical technology space and the cleantech / sustainability space.

Each founder has trained with the Startup Battlefield team to develop their pitch, create their stories, polish their launch strategy, strengthen their go-to-market, and create amazing live product demos. you you can see the innovation first hand. Each team will have six minutes to pitch followed by a six-minute question and answer session with our esteemed panel of judges, all experts in venture capital and successful companies. On Thursday, select startups will participate in the Final Round of Startup Battlefield, with a new panel of expert judges.

* As part of Startup Alley, businesses are eligible for the wild card. These are the companies selected for Wild Card and can compete in Startup Battlefield. They are selected shortly before the event.
